The rights of physicians are subject to different texts of legislation, depending on the type of exercise.These texts include ,  right of association, wages, employment contracts, working conditions, health and safety, regulatoring professional institutions.

• Private physicians

Law No. 92/007 of 14 August 1992 on the Labour Code in Cameroon (in french, Code du Travail au Cameroun )

• Contract physicians  of the first class hospitals and other public health facilities

They are subject to the national collective agreement (in french, Convention collective nationale ), signed by ;

• Civil servant physicians

              Decree No. 94/199 of 7 October 1994 on the general status of the Civil Service of the State amended and supplemented by Decree No. 2000/287 of 12 October 2000 (in french , Chapitre II, section 1 du Décret n° 94/199 du 07 octobre 1994  portant statut général de le Fonction Publique de l’État modifié et complété par le décret n ° 2000/287 du 12 octobre 2000).
